[Personal Update] A Pleasant Surprise!

Last September 20, 2013 (Friday), I was surprised when my Mom texted me about a package which arrived for me at home. As I am staying in an apartment near my school during weekdays, I had to wait for a day before I could get my claws hands on it.

When I finally got the package, I also had to explain to my Mom that it was from a Filipino author from Manila whom I helped out with her book marketing. *sweat* *sweat* 

Actually, even though I've been book-blogging for a little less than a year now, my Mom has yet to know about it. She just thinks I'm always working on the computer. She doesn't know that I have a book blog and I actually arrange blog tours for authors. 

And it's not that I'm keeping it a secret from her. It's just that it's a little hard to explain to my Mom what I actually do online. She just recently learned to use Facebook. I had to tutor her for weeks and had to leave detailed instructions on how to log into her Facebook and Email. Hee! But I'm so proud of my Mom. She and Dad exchange emails everyday! Dare I say techie?!

Aheemm...

Anyways, moving on to the package I received!

I got a paperback copy of Chrissie Peria's first book All's Fair in Blog and War! I also received three bookmarks, a postcard, a celphone charm and CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES WITH BACON BITS!!! GENIUS!!!

I mean, CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES WITH BACON!!! It's like all the goodness in the world was poured into a compact cookie for a tiny taste of heaven! (I'm exaggerating, but you get what I mean, right? RIGHT?!)

I wanted to post a picture of the cookies, but my sister snatched one before I could take a picture. We had to wrestle over one cookie, and before I knew it, all of them were devoured. haha!

Oh, and did I mention that Chrissie also signed my paperback copy? It's my first signed paperback copy EVER!! I'm just so happy to receive it that I feel like puking rainbows! =) Thank you so much, Chrissie! You really made me so happy!

    His gaze seemed to search her face. "And that point is?"

    "Is that we're completely different."

    He remained silent, but his expression was incredulous.  

   "You're Mr. Analytical Applied Math who hardly speaks and doesn't dance and hates football and looks down on the arts students," she said hurriedly.

    Paul's composure was unruffled. "And if I were to go by your argument, I would state the opposite: you are Ms. Illogical Communications major who blurts out whatever comes to mind, makes a fool of herself on the dance floor, would kill over a simple thing like football and resents the science students." 

    She swallowed a lump in her throat. "Fair enough," she said, struggling to contain her shock. "I never really doubted that was what you thought of me."

    "But then you'd be wrong," said Paul quietly.

    "But you just said—"

    "What I said was modeled on your argument. I simply took your words and said the opposite, so as to illustrate my point."

    "And your point is?" She leaned forward, challenging him.

    "I don't think of you that way at all."

    "Huh," scoffed Patrice. "And how do you think of me?"

    Paul suddenly leaned back, seemingly irritated. The waiter arrived with their baked macaroni, but the tension on the table remained. 

    "I think of you very differently," he finally said, in a very soft, strange tone of voice that Patrice strained to hear.
