Genetically altered by the Organization, Annie Fox takes down criminals CIA-style with her luminary strength. He is more powerful than ever and threatens the lives of those she holds most dear. His plan? Get his hands on Annie and use her Kinetic energy to destroy them all. When Annie finds herself with an opportunity to end him, she pauses, horrified by the scars covering the face she once loved. A split second that will cost her everything…
Hohum... This story could be described as Sci-Fi, Urban Fantasy with a sprinkle of Romance in it. I really liked the sci-fi bit, and I found the beginning really strong. I was actually excited of how everything would turn out in the end, and I really liked the lead character. She's strong and independent and basically kick-ass. What I didn't expect though is the downhill slope as the story progressed.
The side characters all seemed one-dimensional to me, which is disappointing because they play a big part in the investigation about Annie's ex-husband. Also, most of the time, I noticed how Annie would react abnormally so something so normal. She's a little off and I don't know if that's just me.
Also, there were so many things injected into the story that I kinda felt a little too overwhelmed to digest everything all at one. There were too many things, too many people doing too many stuff, and everything kind of got crammed into the story. I felt as if everything was all over the place, which is an indicator that the storyline is just going downhill.
All in all, this book is okay. I enjoyed some parts, but this just wasn't for me.
